G2’s Latest Equity Management Software Rankings Place Eqvista at #1

At IncParadise, we help entrepreneurs get their businesses off the ground, from company formation and registered agent services to the filing of annual reports and mail forwarding. But incorporation is only the first step. Once your entity exists, the next challenge is managing who owns what, respecting prior agreements as you issue shares, and ensuring your equity records hold up when investors or auditors come knocking.

That is why we have long recommended Eqvista as the equity management partner of choice for our clients, and now, our recommendation has been validated by G2. Based on verified user reviews and composite satisfaction and market presence scores, Eqvista holds the #1 position in the recently updated G2 rankings for the Equity Management Software category.

How G2 Rankings Work and Why They Matter

G2 rankings are not editorially assigned or paid placements. They are derived algorithmically from verified user reviews, factoring in satisfaction scores, the volume and recency of reviews, and a platform’s overall market presence.

Reviewers must authenticate their use of the product before their feedback is accepted, which gives the rankings a level of credibility that purely editorial lists often lack. For a startup evaluating equity management tools, or a finance team preparing for an audit, G2 rankings serve as a practical starting point; not because they are definitive, but because they aggregate the actual experiences of professionals who use these tools day to day.

For equity management software specifically, the stakes are high. Cap table errors, incorrectly priced stock options, or improperly documented secondary transactions can create significant legal and tax complications down the line. Getting the software choice right early matters, and peer reviews that cover usability, compliance quality, and support responsiveness provide context that vendor marketing simply does not.

The Platforms Currently Leading the Category

On G2, each widely used equity management software, such as Eqvista, Carta, Cake Equity, Pulley, and Qapita, has accumulated a meaningful body of user feedback.

Eqvista

Eqvista holds the #1 position based on current verified reviews. Users across industries, including hospitality, real estate, financial services, and engineering, have noted the platform’s combination of cap table management and integrated defensible 409A valuations as its primary differentiator.

Reviewers consistently highlight the audit-ready nature of its valuation outputs and the platform’s ability to handle complex vesting schedules and multiple share classes.

Reviewers praised the platform as bringing ‘institutional-grade clarity’ to equity management. Others noted that the integration between cap table data and real-time valuations removes the friction they previously experienced when managing these workflows separately.

Carta

Carta remains one of the most recognized names in the category, with a large installed base and broad investor familiarity. Reviewers appreciate its clean dashboard and automated audit trails. However, several G2 reviewers noted that the platform can feel complex for newcomers and that customer support quality varies depending on company size.

Pricing is also a recurring theme in negative feedback, with some mid-sized companies finding the cost harder to justify.

Cake Equity

Cake Equity has carved out a strong position among early-stage founders, with reviewers frequently praising its ease of use, intuitive visual cap table interface, and the quality of its onboarding experience. Multiple reviewers called out the platform’s built-in explainer videos as a standout feature for educating employees about equity.

The platform’s primary limitation, according to reviewers, is that some advanced features are gated behind higher pricing tiers, and its compliance story, while improving, is not yet as familiar to all auditors and investors as more established platforms.

Pulley

Pulley earned strong praise for its responsive customer support. G2 reviewers who had previously used Carta cited Pulley’s more attentive support as a key reason for switching. One reviewer managing over 100 investors described the experience across multiple years as consistently positive.

Reviewers also reported onboarding and billing issues, pointing to inconsistency in service delivery for some clients.

Qapita

Qapita is particularly well-regarded in the Asia-Pacific market and among mid-to-large enterprises managing ESOP programs at scale. Reviewers praise its ease of use from both an employee and administrator perspective, and its compliance and audit reporting capabilities receive consistent positive feedback.

The most common criticism involves limited customization options for dashboards and reports, and some reviewers noted that employees unfamiliar with ESOP terminology can face an initial learning curve on the platform.

A Broader Recognition Worth Noting

Beyond the Equity Management Software category, Eqvista also ranked 23rd in G2’s broader Best Accounting and Finance Products 2026 list, higher than any other equity management software.

The Equity Management category ranking reflects day-to-day user satisfaction among equity-focused teams. However, the cross-category placement suggests that reviewers also view Eqvista’s value within the wider financial software ecosystem, which also includes platforms operating in more established markets.

From Incorporation to IPO-Ready

G2 rankings are a moment-in-time measurement, and any of the platforms in this category can improve or shift position as new reviews come in. What the current ranking does reflect, however, is the aggregated experience of verified users who have worked with these tools through fundraising, audits, option grants, and compliance filings.

So, we can safely conclude that, in a market filled with capable platforms serving distinct needs, Eqvista’s combination of compliance support and valuation integration has placed it at the front of the category as of this latest update. For IncParadise clients specifically, this ranking is more than a market signal.

Through our partnership with Eqvista, founders who incorporate through IncParadise can connect directly to Eqvista’s platform to manage their cap table, issue shares, track vesting schedules, and obtain audit-ready 409A valuations.

Where IncParadise establishes the legal foundation through entity formation, registered agent services, and ongoing compliance filings, Eqvista builds the equity layer on top of it. The result is a complete operational structure that supports a company from its first share issuance through complex pre-IPO financing rounds.
